Benton Bash to be April 13

The annual Thomas Hart Benton Birthday Bourbon & Branch Bash, a benefit celebrating the 97th anniversary of the birth of the late artist Thomas Hart Benton, is scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. April 13 at Kelly's Westport Inn, 500 Westport Road.
The U & I Band is scheduled to entertain. The band, featuring Jim Kweskin, of the former Jim Kweskin Jug Band, has been touring as the "musical arm" of U & I magazine, a new national publication.
Included among the works by Thomas Hart Benton to be on display are "Slavery," "Youth Music," "The House of Lords," "Sculpture, No. 411, Forward Pass," "Picnic" and "Payton's Painting."
Admittance is $20 a person. Proceeds benefit the Benton Scholarship Fund at the Kansas City Art Institute. For information call the Kansas City Art Institute, 561-4852, Ext. 215.
