Born in January 19, 1809 in Boston, Edgar Allan Poe, is considered as one of the precursors of the detective-fiction genre and the modern fantasy. Poet, novelist, drama writer, literary critic and editor, his collection of tales among which the best known are “The purloined letter” and “The murders in the Rue Morgue,” have been translated into French and gathered by Charles Baudelaire.
